Tahoe, California and Nevada
The region surrounding Lake Tahoe is very beautiful and where I spent most of my time. Tahoe itself is a ski resort for the most part and filled with gambling establishments. I don't like gambling, so I scrambled past the barkers as I made my way to the elevator up to my room. My traveling companion and I drove around the entire island, stopping here and there to take photos. Large boulders left from glacial movement adorned the lake’s edge. It reminded me of Maine with the pine trees, water, and rocks. One of our day trips took us to Eagle Lake, a short hike to a serene location where this deep lake was hidden away. The old, tall, sequoia trees surrounded the water’s edge and stretched up to the top of the mountain’s peak.
On the top of the ski slope mountain, after a long tram ride upward, we disembarked to an amazing overlook of Lake Tahoe and Eagle Lake. I shot several panoramic scenes while I was there and have incorporated them into other objects, such as a chandelier.
Whether one is close to the water’s edge or viewing this natural majesty from a far distance, it is a beautiful place to visit.
