Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic
This town completely surprised me. I had been riding on a bus for several hours when I came to this place. It was situated in a valley on the way to Prague. I was coming from the river and Nuremberg, Germany. Apparently the hot springs with their natural mineral waters are the town’s claim to fame. These waters are said to heal. In my opinion it takes a lot of faith to believe that something that tastes that bad can heal you. The town is built around the warming springs, which can be soothing to the body if not ingested. The town curved along the river with magnificent architectural structures. Apparently this is a playground for the rich and famous, as many have vacationed in the surrounding areas.
